Our Partnerships & Initiatives

Paws for a Cause

The Center for Animal Health & Welfare was formed in 1913 and is not affiliated with any other SPCA or ASPCA organization. In 2003, it became a valuable no-kill shelter. Employees of Piramal Critical Care donated several boxes of dog and cat food, toys and other supplies, in addition to nearly $500 from our holiday party prize raffles. In addition, we donated two cases of Isoflurane for the veterinarians that donate their surgical services to the center, to assist with its low cost spaying program.

Earth Day

As an annual event for Piramal Critical Care, Earth Day 2017 found us planting two Gingko Biloba Autumn Gold trees at Crawford & Macada North Parks in Hanover Township. We also conducted a recycling effort at the plant for employees to bring in old electronic devices to help keep these items out of landfills.

Operation Gratitude

In November 2015 and March 2017, our team donated homemade holiday cookies, citronella candles, playing cards, used video games and more to our troops deployed overseas for the Christmas and Easter holidays. This touched the hearts of all as some of the troops are family members of employees.

Toys for Tots

Established in 1947 by the U.S. Marine Corps, Toys for Tots sends a message of hope to needy children across the United States and gives them the joy of unwrapping a new toy on Christmas Day. An annual event for Piramal Critical Care since 2013, we are proud of the hundreds of toys our team has donated these past four years.

Harvest Food Drive

The Harvest Food Drive has been an annual event for Piramal Critical Care since 2012. We have donated more than 1,000 lbs. of nonperishable food items and nearly $3,000 in grocery gift cards, which helps more than 400 needy families in our local area.

Blood Drive

Piramal Critical Care hosted our first blood drive in 2016 through the Miller-Keystone Blood Center. A blood mobile unit was onsite at our plant facility for the day which allowed employees to volunteer any time during their shift.

Backpack Donations

In 2016, Piramal Critical Care employees packed fifty brand new backpacks with school supplies for second graders at Lincoln Elementary School in Bethlehem. Our employees personally delivered the backpacks to the school, where they were met with big smiles from the students and principal, Benita Draper. Mrs. Draper expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donations explaining that many students come from low income families that might have had to choose between buying food over school supplies.

Book Drive

Piramal Critical Care employees held several book drives in 2016, asking employees to donate new and gently used books to children of all ages. We were excited to have collected more than 400 books which were then delivered to Calvary Baptist Church, in conjunction with their backpack program. The church was also donating backpacks for the children of low income families in the Bethlehem area and each child was also excited to be able to pick out a book to go along with their new backpack.

Project “Keep Warm” Coat Drive

Piramal Critical Care hosted a coat drive in 2017 sponsored by the Lehigh Valley Business Group called “Project Keep Warm” which collects new and gently used winter items for adults and children, such as coats, hats, mittens and warm blankets. These winter items were handed out to the homeless, including homeless veterans.

Keystone Warrior Project

For the past three years, our annual holiday parties let employees purchase tickets to play games before sitting down to dinner and we donate the proceeds to a good cause. Recently we donated to the Keystone Warriors project, an Eastern Pennsylvania based 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that seeks to honor the daily sacrifices made by the brave men and women in all branches of the United States Military, and specifically those wounded on or after September 11, 2001.
